Pocket is a class-schedule tool for students. It started out as QUStudio, used by more than 30,000 students, and was scoped to Qassim University and the Buraydah colleges only. I've since renamed and relaunched it to support every university in Saudi Arabia. The story behind the name is here. (Opens in a new tab)
From browser extension to iPad app
Pocket began in 2019 as QUStudio, an extension for Chrome and Firefox. It then became a bookmarklet, before arriving in its current form as a native iPad app. See the original extension launch post. (Opens in a new tab)
On iPad
Pocket shipped as an app on the App Store (Opens in a new tab): free to download, available for iPad, and requiring iPadOS 15 or later. Using it is paid: importing needs a Pocket Pro subscription (SAR 17 per semester at the currently listed price — details on the Pocket site (Opens in a new tab)).
Universities supported in the app
- Qassim University: open the offered courses by study plan page in Safari, then share it to Pocket.
- Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University: pick the university inside the app, select the courses whose sections you want to fetch, then plan.
